The foam production activity began in the mid-1970s in Esmoriz. Due to the strong growth of this activity during the 1980s and 1990s, a decision was made in 1999 to invest from the ground up in a factory dedicated exclusively to the production of polyurethane foam.

Located in Ovar, the new factory was designed to meet the great challenges of the Iberian market. It was necessary to equip this new industrial unit with a large production capacity, capable of producing a WIDE RANGE of foam qualities and types to meet the demand of all market segments. At that time, exports, specifically the Spanish market, were our number one goal.

The risks, challenges, expectations, and difficulties were enormous... therefore, EXCELLENCE, QUALITY, and RIGOR determined the choices for this new investment.

The investments and technological options made were crucial for the creation of a MODERN, EFFICIENT, SAFE, SUSTAINABLE, ENVIRONMENTALLY RESPONSIBLE industrial unit with significant growth potential.

The construction of this new unit was completed in March 2000, and foam production began in September 2001. As a result of an expansionist and well-structured commercial policy, the business growth over the past years has been sustained by a policy of constant investment in the latest technologies, increased production capacity, and process improvements that led to increased efficiency and COMPETITIVENESS of Flex2000.

It is with great Pride and Satisfaction that we highlight and commend all the employees who actively participated in this journey over the past 21 years of Flex2000’s existence. Without them, this History would not be the same. The path was very difficult, but at the same time very rewarding as the dream of building a factory of international reference became a reality.

With much courage, determination, dedication, endurance, and the result of extraordinary work developed by EVERYONE over the past 21 years, Flex2000 has become the Market Leader in the Iberian Peninsula and one of the largest factories in Europe for the production of flexible polyurethane foams. Today, Flex2000 occupies a total area of 63,000 m² and has a production capacity of 40,000 tons of foam annually.

We are present in export markets around the world, from Europe, North America, South America, the Middle East, and others. The destiny of the Group and management responsibilities now lie with the second generation of the Pereira Family, which has ALWAYS prioritized the companies’ interests and practiced a MANAGEMENT CULTURE based on Rigor, EXCELLENCE, and economic sustainability.
